Octopus

Octopus, 2008 Lembeh Strait, Indonesia
Metallic C-Print, 10 x 15 inches

The octopus is the world’s most intelligent invertebrate. Scientific observation has shown them to use abstract thinking in order to problem solve. This intelligence is remarkable, as they live a maximum of only four years. Like most other cephalopods, they can rapidly change their shape, coloration and skin texture to mimic their surroundings.
