Patrolling Sharks, 2007 Blue Corner, Palau
Metallic C-Print, 16 x 22 inches
Palau’s Blue Corner can often have hundreds of sharks cruising nearly fin tip to fin tip, a sight rarely seen elsewhere. This cluster of sharks was veering upwards, stimulated by the thrashing of a wounded fish. As apex predators, sharks regulate the abundance and distribution of many reef species, a service necessary for the health of an intricate ecosystem.
